It’s probably high time I edit this “about me” section considering it’s one of my most clicked pages. But what exactly does one write in an about me section? I suppose I should probably write something about me. It’s just so high pressure. Everyone clicks it, so it feels like there should be something really good here.
I like chocolate.
Oh you want more?
Hmmm. Let’s see. My name is Erin. I’m the mother of three through both birth and foster care adoption. My then boyfriend, now husband Rob and I were foster parents to James and Mariyah for 3 years before finalizing their adoption in 2012. You can find our adoption story here (and link your own if you have one). We’re still licensed foster parents, but not currently planning on taking any placements for the foreseeable future. Our second daughter Violet was born to us on Halloween 2013. At this point people generally link their child’s “birth story”. I didn’t type a birth story for her, mostly because I always find birth stories a little graphic and also who wants to talk about how far dilated my cervix was. Not me. (Don’t worry friends, if I ever come across your birth story I’ll still give the obligatory “That was beautiful!” comment even though I skipped reading right from the pregnancy to the “baby is here!” part).
Our family lives in the NYC area. I work in Film/Television Post Production. Rob works in… set design? Or something like that. I don’t know. But sometimes he gets free tickets to shows so it’s obviously a really cool job.
