Favorite Picture: To help us get through No Spend December, I rounded up all the gift cards I had laying around. I had two of those $5 dollar Target cards that you get for buying 500 baby food pouches at the same time (man Violet used to plow through those things). The kids and I were at Target picking up prescriptions and they talked me into buying a gingerbread house. This one was SO perfect I had to recommend it. My kids each did a house, plus they had a friend over and he did the 4th one. The whole kit was on sale for just $7! Much cheaper than buying each kid their own house. They totally loved it.
Even Elphaba was a fan. Unfortunately, she inspired the kids to eat their gingerbread houses, so at this point in time all we have left is the foundation of the bank.
Favorite Netflix Movie: I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I have a lot of trouble wading through all the options on Netflix. Half of them are terrible. It takes forever to sift through the other half. I swear we spend longer picking a show than we do watching it. The other day I realized one of my favorites movies OF ALL TIME was on Netflix. While You Are Sleeping is seriously the best holiday/right after Christmas film. If you aren’t familiar with it, through a random course of events people think Sandra Bullock is engaged to this guy who is in a coma. She’s lonely, she gets close to his family. It’s all very heartwarming. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll be glad you saved 20 minutes trying to pick what to watch on Netflix.
Favorite Glasses: Mariyah and I got some new specs! Earlier this fall, AC Lens reached out to see if I would be interested in doing a review of their products. Things were a little busy, so I didn’t respond to the email… then a few weeks later Mariyah’s glasses broke for the third time in six months. Needless to say, I happily took them up on their offer.
If you are looking to buy contacts or glasses online I cannot recommend AC Lens highly enough! Ordering from them is a super easy process. You pick what you want from the website, add it to your cart, then either upload your prescription or input your eye doctor’s contact information. I inputed our doctor’s information (because heaven knows what I did with those prescriptions they gave me at my last appointment.) And wa-la! A few days later these beauts arrived at our door. I went with the Picklez brand for Mariyah, because unlike all the glasses I’ve purchased for her at the eye doctor’s office this year, Picklez had a warranty. (Excuse my face here, James took this photo and for whatever reason it took him 5 years to push the button).
