Thanks for all the love on my post last week. It means a lot to know I have so many people in my corner (or perhaps I should say my inbox). I think part of my stress last week, was that I hadn’t fully gotten back in my groove from two weeks ago (when she got so dehydrated that she had a seizure). She did have a short stint in the fall where she ended up in the hospital every other week for 6 weeks, but those hospital stays were all 1-2 nights each so they felt less overwhelming.
The trailer for Miracles From Heaven must have played a dozen times a night while we were at the hospital, and I kept thinking Good heavens that looks sappy…. but hey God if you want to put anymore kids in tree trunks to heal their rare illness, feel free to pick mine next. Each time we are discharged, I think maybe this will be the last time we’ll have to come here. Maybe? A girl can dream right.
Violet was completely back to normal by Sunday. We were a little bummed about not getting to go to Virginia, so we decided to check out the new SeaGlass Carousel at Battery Park. The temperature was perfect, but since the sky was a bit overcast, we practically had the whole park to ourselves!
PlanetBox Picnic, I swear these lunch boxes are the best investment I’ve ever made.
I’m not sure these pictures can do justice to how cool the SeaGlass Carousel looks in person, if anyone is visiting NYC I would highly suggest you check it out (it’s also wheelchair accessible!).
Miss Mariyah ready to go!
Violet was a little mad that she wasn’t tall enough to ride alone (miss independent), so I cheered her up with a funny face selfie while we waited for the carousel to start.
In spite of having to sit on boring old mommy’s lap, she ended up loving it and kept excitedly announcing “I yike the beach! I yike the beach!”
After that we spent a leisurely afternoon playing in the park. They had recently trimmed a Weeping Willow, which Mariyah kept accidentally calling a Whomping Willow, so the girls decided to make crowns.
