Here are a couple of our favorites this week.
Favorite Picture: I’m not sure why, but I just love this photo from last weekend. These sisters are best buddies. One reason I like this picture is because it feels so THEM right now. Mariyah leading Violet around, Violet wearing rain boots even though it’s not raining. Ah life.
Favorite Quote: Mariyah and I had a chat the other day that made me smile…
Mariyah: At school they said said not to drink and drive. So I told them my dad drinks and drives ALL the time.
Me: Your dad does not drink and drive honey… He would never.
Mariyah: Yes he does! Water, coffee, soda….
Me: Oh they meant alcohol. Did you tell the class that when your dad drinks and drives he’s drinking coffee?
Mariyah: No. I just told them he’s really good at drinking and driving. They said drinking and driving makes you a bad driver, so I said not for my daddy. My daddy is really really good at it.
Call from the teacher still pending.
Favorite Deal: These little Lego sets are the best! (And so are these ones, and these ones) We still have a over a month, but since they are on sale I think I might stock up for James and Mariyah’s birthday parties. The small sets make really great party favors or prizes (if I am able to get myself together for pin the tail on the donkey).
Favorite Update: I officially have a two year old! Her party last weekend went pretty well. We struggled a bit at the beginning – our soul toilet clogged moments before the guests started arriving and the birthday girl refused to put on pants. But other than that it was perfect. I even correctly estimated the number of cupcakes we needed, which has never before happened in the entire history of Bohn kid birthday parties (6 years).
Favorite Recipe: You guys, I can not even with this Baked Brie and Fresh Cranberries from Goodie Godmother. Admittedly I haven’t tried it yet, but when it comes to brie cheese I don’t need to try it to know it’s good. On Thanksgiving morning we always eat a bunch of cheese and crackers while we watch the Macy’s Day Parade (on TV, I’m not crazy enough to take the kids and watch in person). I am definitely pinning this recipe because it looks like the perfect Thanksgiving morning snack!
